Pieranne is a visionary biomedical engineer from Cameroon whose mission is to make healthcare technology more reliable, accessible, and innovative. With her engineering background from the National Higher Polytechnic Institute Bamenda, she has applied both academic and field expertise to projects that improve hospital maintenance and health outcomes.
Her initiative Healix, an IoMT-based medical device management platform, allows hospitals to monitor biomedical equipment performance in real time , ensuring that no life-saving device fails when it’s needed most. This invention, born out of her academic research, became a continental highlight in 2024 when global advocates like Leith Greenslade recognized its impact.
Beyond engineering, Pieranne is also a digital storyteller and marketing strategist, volunteering at Her Blueprint Africa and interning at Uni B Agency to empower youth, women, and innovators in STEM. Her leadership blends technology with communication, creating a bridge between healthcare systems and public engagement
Expert in preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical devices. Designs and implements Internet-of-Medical-Things solutions for hospital equipment monitoring. Leads cross-functional projects combining engineering, training, and digital strategy. Creates impactful campaigns that communicate STEM innovation and community impact. Drives advocacy initiatives and mentorship for women in STEM and health innovation.
As the CEO and Founder of Med Techies Cameroon, I provide leadership, strategic direction and representation for the organization. I guide the Executive Team, oversee program planning and implementation, and ensure that all initiatives align with our vision of empowering women in biomedical engineering and advancing healthcare technology in Cameroon.
I build and oversee the building of partnerships with institutions, companies and stakeholders; contribute to healthcare and digital health articles; and organize members to stay updated with healthcare technology, engineering trainings, and emerging trends. I also manage the organization’s social media presence to enhance visibility and engagement. In addition, I supervise advocacy efforts, financial accountability and innovation programs to ensure sustained impact and alignment with Med Techies’ mission, Building Tomorrow’s Healthcare Today.
Mentored by Dr. Mambi Madzivire, I attained 6 months of intensed mentorship under the Africa Women In Biomedical Engineering Community.
At Uni B Agency, I have been assisting the Director in managing daily operations and ensuring that tasks and responsibilities are carried out efficiently. Key duties include prioritizing major assignments by taking charge of routine and administrative activities, maintaining communication with clients through calls, emails, and messages, and attending meetings or events as required. The position also supports project coordination, including tasks that involve basic digital and organizational skills.
In addition, responsibilities extend to activities related to Better World Charity. This includes contributing to social media management by creating and posting basic content, responding to digital inquiries, and maintaining active engagement across platforms. I also work on other delegated tasks assigned as needed to enhance workflow, productivity, and the overall effectiveness of Uni B agency and the Director's initiatives.
